The Angels Speak “Opposites Attract”

In metaphysics we learn that like attracts like and much emphasis is placed upon the Mirror analogy - the perspective that what we experience is a mirror of our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, expectations and intentions, etc.

The Angels confirm this truth, yet ask us to look beyond the mirror and into the face of the opposition . . .

Energy is not solely attracted to that which is on the same or similar wavelength.  Energy of opposing forces will also find a common current that magnetizes their energy toward a positive purpose.

The Angels ask us to consider that our incarnation into physical life is an opportunity to embark upon a journey of self-discovery and remembrance.  That our life experience allows us opportunities to learn and grow, to transcend and ascend.

We are asked to further consider that prior to our incarnation we set personal goals for our growth and make plans for experiences that will present platforms for these personally chosen life lessons.

The Angels wish to take a moment to assure us that our life is not one big predestine puppet show!  Although we make plans and set goals for our life experience, our Free Will is always honored and we are free to move through the lessons and realize the goals as planned or to take detours and set off in a different direction.  Every pathway will provide opportunities to learn and grow after all!  Even those who seek an escape route from the lesson will ultimately learn something from the experience of escaping . . .

Most of us do learn from experience, doing is much different than watching someone else, or learning from a book or listening to a lecture.  As many will agree, being behind the driver’s wheel of a car, with the power of the vehicle in one’s hands, is quite a different experience from the perspective we have when in the passenger seat!

Sure, watching someone else drive, certainly helpful and hearing the instructor lecture on lane changes and reading about the rules of the road, all purposeful within the process of learning.  However, to implement the concepts and ideas, one needs to buckle up behind the wheel and actually drive.

Sure, we may start off in the safe zone, putt around in a parking lot, eventually though we need to merge into traffic where real life driving takes place!  Driving in traffic with street lights and stop signs, pedestrians crossing the street, people driving in a hurry and others who are on a scenic trip taking their time, in traffic where there are cars, busses, motorcycles and bicycles too, in traffic is where we hone our skills . . .

Merging into the traffic of life, interacting with others – others who are on a similar journey as well as with those who are going in the opposite direction is how we learn and hone our skills . . .

If one of our goals within our life experience is to learn how to forgive, we may find it helpful to read inspirational stories about forgiveness.  We may gain understanding through witnessing positive examples of forgiveness from others.  However, if we are going to get off the bench and implement the play, we will require an opposing force to provide a platform for us to actually forgive.  We will require someone to “trespass against us” to experience first hand what it means to forgive.  In our quest to learn how to forgive, we may also find it helpful to do a little “trespassing” to experience what it means to be forgiven.

However, if we have chosen to learn how to forgive, we will more than likely find that we tend to attract those who have chosen to learn how to apologize . . .

If one of our goals within our life experience is to learn how to set boundaries, learning the concepts through witnessing someone who positively sets and maintains boundaries is certainly going to prove helpful!  However, if we wish to personally implement the concepts and ideas we witness, we will need an opposing force to cross the line.  We will need to attract those who have chosen to learn how to honor and respect the boundaries of others.  If we have chosen to learn how to say no, we need experiences with those who have chosen to learn how to take no for an answer . . .

If our life quest is to learn how to live in peace and diplomacy, we may attract those who wish to “war” with us as well as attract and learn from those who are great diplomats and peacemakers . . .

If our life desire is to hone our skills in perseverance, attracting experiences that require us to persevere will provide the opportunity . . .

If we wish to develop patience, perhaps we will attract those who test ours . . . as well as attract those who emulate and provide tremendous patience with us . . .

Attracting the opposition provides a win-win for all parties!  Giving everyone involved opportunities to practice within the field of their chosen quest of growth and ascension.

Instead of perceiving the opposition as a tremendous pain in our behind, the Angels ask us to consider that those who are providing an opposing force within our life are actually providing an important service within our personal pursuit of self discovery!

The Angels ask us to consider that along with our mentors, teachers, guides, along with those who pat us on the back and cheer us on, those who play an opposing role within our life have made agreements and contracts with us to do so.

The Angels suggest that those who contract with us in this capacity, those come prepared to be “thorns in our side” actually love us so much that they are willing to wear the mask of the villain to provide us with the platforms of growth that their opposition will provide.

Their disguise in physical form needs to be as it is, for if we were able to see through the illusion and recognized their True Face, if we were able to remember our True Relationship, their opposing role would not be merely as affective . . .

However, within this renewed awareness perhaps rather than resenting the opposition, we may now be able to honor it.

When we repetitively experience similar scenarios each reflecting the same opposing force, experience different people with the same patterns and/or personality traits, it is not that we are doing something “wrong” or that we are being punished. It is not even that we have failed to learn the lesson!   The Angels ask us to consider that we are simply being provided practice within the field of our chosen quest of growth and ascension.

However, if we believe we have put in enough “lab time” and wish to move on, then it is time to recognize the lesson as being learned.  It is then time to ascend to a space of gratitude and love, and acknowledge the contracts as being fulfilled.  Once we find our self in a space of gratitude and acceptance, we will often then cease attracting opposing forces related to the particular life lesson.

An aspect of the Mirror analogy suggests that what we dislike in another is actually a mirror of unhealed energy within our self.  This is sometimes true, but not always . . . sometimes we are looking into the face of the opposition.  In both cases, the energy reflected is providing us with opportunities for awareness and ascension, which certainly deserves respect, honor and gratitude.

Those who we may least recognize as a teacher are perhaps the ones providing us with the most valuable lessons.

The Angels ask us to consider the next time we find our self looking into the face of the opposition, to look past the illusion and recognize and acknowledge the energy with love and gratitude for their willingness to play the role that provides us with opportunities of tremendous growth.

Perhaps within this renewed awareness, any unhealed energy we perceive within others and/or our self, we will be able to see in a whole new Light!
