“Until he extends his circle of compassion to include all living things, man will not himself find peace.” – Albert Schweitzer

Elephant Sanctuary

Riddle's Elephant and Wildlife Sanctuary was established by Scott and Heidi Riddle in 1990 on 330 acres in the Ozark Mountain foothills in Arkansas as a non-profit [IRS 501(C)(3) EIN-71-0694957] home for elephants needing one for any reason. This is the only internationally recognized sanctuary that accepts any elephant regardless of species, gender, or disposition.

This Arkansas elephant sanctuary currently houses Asian elephants and African elephants, and both males and females. Elephant care and elephant management are taught at this elephant haven in the peaceful Arkansas countryside. Programs include Elephant Experience Weekends and an annual International School for Elephant Management. Major goals of the sanctuary include the care of the resident elephant herd, but also elephant conservation in general, helping to ensure the

long-term survival of these magnificent and highly endangered species.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary began in 1991 as a non-profit organization in Carmel, California, with a mission to end the abuse, neglect and slaughter of horses, ponies, donkeys, mules and burros through rescue and foster care.  The mission of Redwings Horse Sanctuary is to eliminate the causes of equine suffering through education and community outreach programs, rescue abused and neglected equines, and provide permanent sanctuary or selected foster homes for those equines.

Save the Manatee Club was established in 1981 by former Florida Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Graham and singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett.  The Club was started so the public could participate in conservation efforts to save endangered manatees from extinction.  Their mission is to protect manatees and their aquatic habitats for future generations.  Save the Manatee Club is a membership-based, national nonprofit organization, funds go toward public awareness and education projects, manatee research; rescue and rehabilitation efforts; and advocacy and legal action in order to ensure better protection for manatees and their habitat.

Vital Ground

Vital Ground Operating as a land trust, the mission of The Vital Ground Foundation is to protect and restore North America's grizzly bear populations by conserving wildlife habitat.  While preserving the areas where grizzlies roam is the focus of Vital Ground, the positive impact of our work goes well beyond saving a single species. Because the grizzly's range covers several hundred square miles−from alpine meadows to valley bottoms−protecting grizzly habitat benefits entire plant and animal communities in the wildest, most scenic places left on the continent.

Wildlife Sanctuary

We have been rescuing exotic wildlife and endangered species since 1980, and are currently home to more than 155 Lions, Tigers, Bears, Jaguars, Leopards, Mountain Lions, Lynx, Bobcats, Servals, Wolves, and other wildlife.

The residents of our Wild Animal Sanctuary were abandoned, abused, illegally kept, or came from other terrible situations.  The vast majority of our animals were so-called “pets” - and were confiscated by law enforcement officials - usually within the first six months of their lives.  We also provide permanent refuge to surplus animals from zoos and other wildlife facilities, where they face euthanasia due to over-breeding.
